We are delighted to present the inaugural issue of our journal, featuring a diverse array of research that delves into the heart of tropical scientific exploration. In this issue, we embark on a journey through six compelling papers, each contributing valuable insights to the understanding of our tropical environments. From the growth and yield of Okra treated with vermicompost and eco-enzyme in histosol soil to the innovative use of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic waste for highway flexible pavement, the breadth of topics covered is both inspiring and essential. Furthermore, our contributors shed light on critical issues such as waste management in subsidized housing, the impact of non-burning agricultural policy on land use and farmers' income, and the analysis of water quality discrepancies in the Manuhing River with implications for environmental management. The final paper highlights planning for the development of a biodiversity park in Seruyan Regency. We invite you to immerse yourselves in these illuminating studies, as we collectively strive to deepen our understanding of the tropics and foster sustainable practices for the benefit of both ecosystems and communities. Welcome to the vibrant world of Science in the Tropics!
